Visitors, come see us! Det 590 cordially invites alumni, veterans, students, parents, enlisted personnel and friends to visit our department. Our offices are open year-round from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. We are closed on weekends, university holidays, and most federal holidays.
Parking Information
The New Venable Lot, which is the parking lot directly behind the Naval Armory is not open to the public during normal business hours. UNC has a parking website to help identify available parking lots on campus. Typically, your best option is to park in the Morehead Planetarium, which is the closest public lot to the Armory. The second-best options are any of the 24-hour parking options on E. Rosemary Street. Parking in most lots around campus is around $1.75 per hour, so make sure you are prepared to pay for parking if needed. When you arrive at the front door, please ring the buzzer near the Army door, relay your appointment details, and you will be let in the building.
