From Greensboro:
On I-40 East, take the Chapel Hill 86 South Exit (Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd./ Historic Airport Road/Columbia Street) three miles into Chapel Hill.
Morehead Visitor’s Lot: accommodates North/Central Campus; Follow Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. until it changes to Columbia Street. Take left onto Franklin Street. About 1/2 mile on right is the parking lot, in front of the Morehead Planetarium. Turn right into driveway and proceed to toll booth.
Ramshead Parking Deck: accommodates Central/South Campus; Follow Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. until it changes to Columbia Street. Take left onto Franklin Street. Turn right onto Raleigh Street and follow until end. Turn right onto South Road and take next left onto Stadium Drive. At end, turn right onto Ridge Road. Parking deck is on the immediate right. Turn right into driveway and proceed to entry gate.
Cameron Avenue metered parking: accommodates North/West Campus; Follow Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd until it changes to Columbia Street. Take a right onto Cameron Avenue. The parking meters are located after the first traffic light on right hand side. 15 minutes for .25 cent.
From Raleigh and RDU Airport:
From I-40 West, take the Chapel Hill 273A exit. Follow NC-54 until you see a University of North Carolina brick marker to your right.
Morehead Visitor’s Lot: accommodates North/Central Campus; Follow NC-54 until the brick marker and turn right onto Country Club Road at the light. Follow through wooded area and take right onto Raleigh Street. At next light, take left onto Franklin Street. The parking lot is on the left in front of the Morehead Planetarium. Turn left into driveway and proceed to toll booth.
Ramshead Parking Deck: accommodates Central/South Campus; Follow NC-54 until the brick marker and turn left onto Country Club Road at the light. Take next right onto Ridge Road (can easily be missed!). Follow Ridge Road as you pass Carolina Law School on the right and Boshamer Baseball Stadium on the left. As you pass Avery Dormitory on the left, the parking deck is on the immediate right. Turn right into driveway and proceed to entry gate.
Cameron Avenue metered parking: accommodates North/West Campus; Follow NC-54 until the brick marker and turn left onto Country Club Rdoad at the light. Follow through wooded area until Country Club Rd turns into Cameron Ave. Once on Cameron Ave, the parking meters are located on the right side after the second light. 15 minutes for .25 cents.
From Durham:
On I-85, exit left at the 15-501 South (Chapel Hill) exit. At the edge of Chapel Hill, bear to the right onto Franklin Street (there is a small sign showing the turn off). Continue up the hill.
Morehead Visitor’s Lot: accommodates North/Central Campus; Follow Franklin Street up the hill and continue through several stop lights. Morehead Planetarium will be on the left, and the parking lot sits in front of the planetarium on Franklin Street. Turn left into driveway and proceed to toll booth.
Ramshead Parking Deck: accommodates Central/South Campus; Follow Franklin Street up the hill and continue through several stop lights. Turn left onto Raleigh Street and follow until end. Turn right onto South Road and take next left onto Stadium Drive. At end, turn right onto Ridge Road. Parking deck is on the immediate right. Turn right into driveway and proceed to entry gate.

Walking from Visitor’s Lot to ROTC Armory:
Morehead Visitor’s Lot: Walk out of the parking lot onto Franklin Street and take a left onto the sidewalk. Continue to walk, passing several places to eat on both sides of the street as well as popular stores to stock up on Carolina attire. When you come to the intersection at Columbia Street, turn left. Continue down the sidewalk passing through 2 lights/intersections Along the way you will pass Ackland Art Center on the left, Fraternity Court on the right, and the Carolina Inn. Keep walking down Columbia Street – the Armory is on the left. You’ll see the flagpole in front of our building and as you get closer, you’ll see the battleship gun out front, too.
Ramshead Parking Deck: Take the elevator to the top floor of the Ramshead Center where there is a grass courtyard along with a dining facility and gym. Go right down the sidewalk, taking you along the right side of Kenan Football Stadium. Continue up the sidewalk and it merges onto Stadium Drive. You pass the main entrance to the stadium on the left, and the Belltower is not much further down the road also on the left. At the end of Stadium Drive, cross the street, and turn left onto South Road. Continue up South Road and on the left at the second light/intersection is the ROTC building. You’ll see the flagpole in front of our building and as you get closer, you’ll see the battleship gun out front, too.
Cameron Avenue metered parking: Walk back towards S Columbia St. At the light, make a right and continue to walk past Peabody and Sitterson. Our building is located on the corner of South Rd and South Columbia St.
At the ROTC Building:
Come in the door marked “Air Force”, take a right and follow the airplane pictures down the hall. Turn left and come to Room 120, which is the first office on your right. This is the secretary’s office/reception area. Come on in! Our office hours are 8:00 AM until 4:00 PM Monday-Friday except University Holidays.
Note: all campus parking lots are open to the public on evenings, weekends and all day on University Holidays EXCEPT during athletic events and concerts. Some lots, not all, may be affected by these events. Lots blocked off will be marked or manned by an attendant. Cost of parking is $1.25/hour.
